Mercedes-Benz SL Turns 60

It's hard to imagine that any vehicle in the Mercedes-Benz lineup could be so old, but it's true. We here at World Imports USA, however, think that the German luxury model isn't showing its age at all these days. And that goes double for the recently unveiled 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class. Nevertheless, Mercedes-Benz insists it's true, and who are we to argue?

In celebration of this incredible milestone, Mercedes-Benz has gone out of its way to restore on of the oldest living SL models known. The vehicle has actually remained property of the automaker, which is convenient for them, since the early fifties. Before you get to wondering, though, we should note that the model being restored is not the first production Mercedes-Benz SL. Rather, it's actually the second production model. Our sources tell us the first one was actually scrapped a while back.

We think this is a great project, and a very creative way to celebrate one of the company's most distinguished models. But we want to know what you think. Has Mercedes-Benz done all they should to celebrate 60 years of the SL? Or do you think that perhaps a special edition of the luxury vehicle is in order too? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!

Or would you rather simply drive a used Mercedes-Benz model? If so, then simply contact us online or by phone at (888) 853-7166. Our financing team would be more than happy to arrange a test drive for you here at 11650 Beach Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32246 at your next convenience.
