Infiniti Develops New Method for EV Charging

Infiniti knows that the bane of many EV owners' existence is simply have to plug in their vehicle upon reaching their destination. While there's nothing that can be done about the fact that an electric vehicle has to be charged, that hasn't stopped the luxury automaker from half solving the problem. Infiniti has found a way to wirelessly charge an EV, and we here at World Imports USA are truly intrigued by the possibilities that the new development represents.

To begin charging, all the driver needs to do is simply park the car on top of the charging station's pad. Though we should note that the effectiveness of the charger is directly related to how well the vehicle is parked on the charger, so perhaps it isn't as simple. Currently Infiniti is claiming that their new wireless charging technology is about 80-90 percent efficient when parked correctly, tough, which is a big improvement on other wireless charging systems.

When can we expect to see this new tech implemented? The current estimate is 2014, and with as efficient as the technology already is, we think that Infiniti is on the right track. Of course, for this new tech to even be deployed, the company will need to release an EV that needs charging first. Perhaps they'll make use of their parent company's LEAF? Maybe they'll develop a more performance-driven EV of their own. In the end, we can only speculate.

Of course, if you'd rather stick to a more conventional used Infiniti we won't blame you. After all, EV tech is still a few years away from gaining full mainstream market share, and you'll find a great selection of used luxury and exotic cars to choose from at 11650 Beach Blvd Jacksonville, FL 32246.
