What's your perception of beauty? It's different for everyone, but beauty in one form or another attracts customers to our World Imports USA showroom when they're searching for a reliable, stylish and affordable used car.

For others, such as artist Jeff Koons, a car can reach its fullest level of beautification when it's used as a canvas. Koons did just that when he and supermodel Karolina Kurkova presented the customized BMW Art Car, the M3 GT2 race car on Dec. 4 at Art Basel in Miami Beach.  So the event took place quite a ways south of us in Jacksonville, FL all the way down most of the coast, but perhaps you caught wind of it.

Koons' creation is a tribute to the 1979 Andy Warhol Car featuring the number "79" and vibrant-colored stripes of various strokes along the car's black base.

"I always enjoyed the Art Cars--Warhol's Car, Roy Lichtenstein's car, Stella's, Calder's--all the cars have always been fantastic," Koons shared at the event where Marc Spiegel, Director of Art Basel, was also in attendance. "I just wanted to participate. The art world is like a family and I wanted to also be involved in this dialogue of designing an Art Car. Today I'm proud that this car is there alongside their work too."1

The BMW Art Car Collection began when Herve Poulain, French racing driver and auctioneer, encouraged his friend Alexander Calder to design his own BMW Le Mans 24-hour race car in 1975.

If you're feeling artistic, you can swing by our showroom and select a used BMW and begin your own customization journey. Stop in any time and we'll be happy to help.
