The Volkswagen Passat. It's classy, it's stylish, and it's a driving dynamic champ. It's also rather APPEALing. That's the word from J.D. Power and Associates. The company released the results of its Automotive Performance Execution and Layout (APPEAL) study which is conducted every year with consumer results. The Passat ranked the highest in the Midsize Car category (14 total vehicles) in the study.

The APPEAL study is based on responses from over 83,000 owners and lessees after the first 90 days of ownership. Respondents evaluated their vehicles across 77 categories.

Volkswagen didn't stop there. The Volkswagen GTI earned the top spot in the Compact Sporty Segment. Additionally, the Beetle and the Golf won second and third place respectively in the Compact Car Segment.

We also give our hats off to the Tiguran which captured second place in the Sub-Compact CUV segment.

"This award further validates the Passat as an exceptionally competitive offering in the mid-size sedan segment," says Jonathan Browning, President and CEO, Volkswagen of America. "It's very gratifying for everyone in the company and especially for our employees at the Passat plant in Chattanooga that buyers are so pleased with their cars. The Passat is an industry leader in generating conquest sales and this award highlights why that is the case."1

Volkswagen ranked 14th overall in the study.
