We may only be four months into 2013, but Volkswagen is already preparing to introduce 2014 models into the mix. The new model year will mark the end of the sixth generation of the Volkswagen GTI, so it's not surprising to hear that two special editions have been officially announced to commemorate what many say has been the hot hatch's most successful iteration thus far.

The GTI Wolfsburg Edition and Driver's Edition will arrive first, later in Q1 of 2013. Building on everything offered in the base trim of the Volkswagen GTI, it offers 18-inch "Laguna" wheels, a golf ball shifter knob and red-stitched carpeted floormats. When equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, it features an MSRP of $25,095, though a six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic is available for $26,195.

Arriving in Q2 of 2013 is the Volkswagen GTI Driver's Edition. Featuring everything that the Wolfsburg Edition does plus partial leather seat coverings, this version is built on the GTI with Sunroof and Navigation package. When equipped with a six-speed manual, its MSRP is $29,695. With a six-speed DSG: $30,795. Volkswagen is also including a special package for ever Driver's Edition sold that includes a Certificate of Authenticity, hat, keychain and driver's sign.

If either one of these two unique takes on the GTI has caught your attention; you're going to want to act fast. Quantities of the Wolfsburg Edition are limited to just 2,000. And while 3,000 Driver's Editions will be produced, it's still going to be somewhat hard to find. That, however, is exactly why World Imports USA is here to answer any questions you have.
