It's easy to get caught up in what's new and next in the auto industry, but we mustn't forget older vehicles, either. It's a piece of history, and if they're still on the road, those owners still have needs for their vehicles. That's we admire German luxury brand, Porsche, for partnering up with tire manufacturer Michelin to create a new tire for a sports car built from 2003-2006.

The car we speak of is the Carrera GT. Between those years, 1,270 versions of the car were sold, and the two businesses combined heads to create the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tire. After 10 years of tire development, they've found perfection; this tire replaces the current Pilot Sport PS2.

These tires are fitted with "dual-compound technology" which use different rubber compounds in and outside of the tread. This is intended to deliver maximum grip and precise steering.

Additionally, the belt is made of fibers that are actually five times lighter than steel but just as strong. It also doesn't hurt that the variable contact area spreads the pressure evenly across the tire--efficiency at its finest.

Improved braking, improved performance, increased mileage up to 10 percent on normal roads and up to 20 percent on race tracks...these are huge, positive changes to aid the vehicle. Well done, Porsche.

Luckily, we carry some used Porsche vehicles in the lineup that were carefully created and considered by a brand that cares so much for its customers' satisfaction. If you have specific questions about these vehicles or any used car here at World Imports USA, stop by our showroom in Jacksonville, FL, and we'd be happy to help you.
