Yesterday, Lotus new version of the famous Elise. The all-new Elise Cup 250 is lighter by 21 kilograms, and more powerful by 26 horsepower. Accelerating from zero to 60 in under four seconds, it's the fastest road-going Elise ever.
"The Lotus Elise has long set the benchmark in its class, yet we’ve been able to hone its straight-line performance and handling," said Jean-Marc Gales, CEO of Group Lotus plc. "Yes, it is capable of amazing things on a track, but it also retains its road manners and is perfectly composed for day-to-day driving. No rival offers this level of performance and accessibility.”
The new Elise Cup 250 is a perfect example of the company's philosophy that lighter is better. Already lighter than its Cup 220 predecessor, the 250 also features an available Carbon Aero package that further reduces the curb weight by 10 kilograms.
With a starting MSRP of £45,600 ($63,258), the Elise Cup 250 will be available in most major markets beginning in 2016. A North American release date has not yet been announced.
