About the Land Rover Series III
Much of the Series III is carried over from older models, with one very important addition - synchromesh. Synchromesh allows for smoother shifting through the four forward gears and modernizes the driving experience a bit. The 2.25-liter engine boasted a little more power, and Land Rover slightly improved interior ergonomics thanks to a redesigned dashboard and driver's-side instrument cluster.
