The 2021 Lotus Evora GT Delivers a Classic Lotus Experience in a Modern Package
Those two letters, "GT", can tell you a lot about what a vehicle is designed for. And while the typical Lotus philosophy is to create the lightest vehicles possible, the Evora GT side-steps that mantra while still delivering a thrilling drive and incredible cornering ability. The "more usable" Evora model will be coming to World Imports USA in Jacksonville towards the end of 2020, and it will be largely based on the current Evora model in terms of size and platform. However, a more spacious cabin and easier interior access will make the Evora GT the type of two-door sports car you might consider for your daily trips from Ponte Vedra Beach to Palm Valley rather than one you might only take out a few times a year.
Superior Performance
The core of the Lotus Evora GT experience lies under its hood. It is equipped with a mid-mounted, supercharged 3.5-liter V6 that gets a maximum power output of 416 horsepower and a variable torque rating, depending on which transmission you have installed. The standard configuration is a six-speed manual, which gets you the 317 pound-feet. Opting for the available six-speed automatic boosts the torque rating to 332 pound-feet.
Intelligent Body and Chassis Design
The Lotus Evora GT is incredibly aerodynamic, with its chassis built from lightweight aluminum and its body from a lightweight composite. This allows the Evora GT to achieve a maximum speed of 188 miles per hour. The Evora's curb weight has been lowered from the previous model year, which results in a doubled aerodynamic downforce.
In addition to a more forgiving interior space, you'll also see upgraded interior touches such as upscale trim on the dash and doors, and technology improvements that make it a better daily driver as well. You'll finally see features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto make their way into the Lotus lineup via the Evora GT, further confirming the overall goal of creating a Lotus that you can drive on any given day.
Alcantara upholstery covers the interior surfaces, giving San Marco drivers the most premium feel possible while maintaining the overall simplicity you typically find in a Lotus interior. You'll even have a choice between automatic and manual transmissions to suit your driving style, and you can also add a pair of rear seats if you want to add some extra passengers to the mix.
