Infiniti is bring over 400 job to the Nashville, Tennessee region by opening up their first powertrain plant outside of Japan. This move is ramping up the creation of engines and is a result of the new alliance between Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler AG.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline 4-cylinder engine will be outfitted inside Infiniti Q50 sedans and the Mercedes-Benz C Class models that are produced further south in a factory in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. To learn more about this new facility and its future check out the video below:
To see this alliance break into the United States and begin production so quickly is very exciting for us in Jacksonville, Florida, and we look forward to seeing these operations expand to the creation of more powertrains.
Who knows maybe someday soon we will have some used Mercedes-Benz or Infiniti models equipped with an engine produced in Tennessee roll into our showroom right here.
